Tips for Cleaning Your Blinds

Cleaning the blinds is a chore that is put off by many, so if your guilty of allowing your blinds to accumulate dust, don't feel bad. Depending on the number of blinds you have in your home, it can sometimes be time consuming. Here are a few tips and tricks to help you along the way.

If you haven't cleaned your blinds in a while, they may have quite a bit of dust accumulated on them. If this is the case, you may have to use a mixture of water and a mild soap mixed with a few squirts of white vinegar. Only use the water mixture if your blinds are not wood, you are in the clear if they are faux wood, vinyl or aluminum.

If your blinds just need a basic dusting you can use some type of microfiber cloth or even a sock on your hand to dust blinds, using a solution like pledge may be helpful as well.

If you don't have time to dust the blinds by hand, a vacuum with a brush attachment works great and can save time, say if you have company coming over soon!

After the initial ‘deep' cleaning of the blinds, it is best to wipe down the blinds whenever you clean your home. Happy cleaning!
