Post Holiday Clean-up/Stain Removal

During the holidays most of us have had a few guests over or maybe even have thrown a party or two. Now that things have settled down it's a good idea to check your carpet and furniture for stains. The longer you wait to clean-up those stains, the harder it will be to successfully remove them.

To clean up those unwanted stains, gently spray a mixture of 1/4 teaspoon dishwashing liquid* and 1 cup of warm water. Blot the stain with a paper towel; be sure not to scrub the stain with the paper towel to prevent pilling of fabric. Repeat this process, spraying and blotting until the stain is removed. Rinse the stain with plain water and blot. If the stain was on carpet, fluff the carpet fibers with your fingers.

* Be sure to use a dishwashing liquid that does not contain any hand moisturizer.
